
Student & Young Scientist Programs


The WPSA-Canada, WPSA-Mexico, and WPSA-USA branches will be organizing the 2026 World’s Poultry Congress in Toronto, Canada July 13-17.

To encourage student and young scientist participation, two programs will be available that will aid with financial costs and offer exclusive events for program participants.
2026 WPC Application Guideline for the WPC2026 Young Scientist Program
Successful applicants will be awarded with full registration to WPC2026, accommodation, and meals. Successful applicants will need to purchase their own airfare tickets; however, this cost will be reimbursed after the Congress with provision of receipts. Special events will be organized during the Congress for successful applicants.
Successful applicants will receive notification of acceptance electronically by the program Chair.
Application conditions:

Applicants must be a young scientist (includes post-doctoral fellows), within 5 years of completing their PhD, working in poultry research at a university or in industry.

Applicants must have been a member of WPSA for at least 6 months at the time of application. Priority will be given to members from low-income countries, but all submissions from other countries are eligible.

Submissions must be within the application period (June 12 – September 8, 2025). Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

Applicants must submit an abstract for either an oral or poster presentation and be listed as first author.

Application form must be accompanied by:

A copy of the submitted abstract (abstract submission must be completed through the online submission portal)

Letter of recommendation from your supervisor stating why you are an ideal candidate to receive a Young Scientist Program grant

Short Curriculum Vitae (2-3 pages) and an individual photo (provision of the photo will be taken as permission to use the photo for Congress material)

​Application Guideline for the WPC2026 Student Program
Successful applicants will be awarded with full registration to WPC2026, accommodation, meals, and a post-Congress tour visiting poultry facilities and tourism sites in Ontario. Special events will be organized during the Congress for successful applicants.
Please note that travel expenses (i.e. airfare) are not included. Applicants are encouraged to apply for travel awards from the global and local WPSA branches.
Successful applicants will receive notification of acceptance electronically by the program Chair.

Applicants must be enrolled as a graduate student (MSc or PhD) at a university.

Applicants must have been a member of WPSA for at least 6 months at the time of application.
