FAQs

Q

What is the World’s Poultry Congress?

A:  The World’s Poultry Congress (WPC) is the most significant international event for poultry science, held every four years under the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA). It brings together researchers, industry leaders, students, and stakeholders from around the world to share new findings, discuss key challenges, and shape the future of poultry science. WPC 2026 is being hosted by the North American Branches of WPSA (Canada, U.S.A. & Mexico) and promises to be a globally impactful gathering.

Q

When and where is WPC 2026 taking place?

A: WPC 2026 will take place July 13-17, 2026, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), located in downtown Toronto, Canada.

Q

What sets WPC 2026 apart from other poultry or agricultural conferences?

A:  Unlike regional or sector-specific events, WPC 2026 offers a truly global perspective on poultry science. It’s a rare opportunity for cross-disciplinary collaboration, where researchers working on cutting-edge innovations in genetics, nutrition, welfare, and sustainability share space with industry leaders and policymakers. The Congress only happens every four years, and this one—after a six-year hiatus—is expected to be larger and more collaborative than ever. WPC is where the full scope of poultry science comes together on one stage.

Q

Who attends the Congress?

A:  WPC draws a global mix of attendees, including poultry scientists, academic researchers, veterinarians, producers, policymakers, and students. Participants come from all career stages and sectors, making it a diverse and dynamic environment for knowledge-sharing and networking.

Q

What topics will be covered in the scientific program?

A:  The Congress covers the full spectrum of poultry science. Topics will include genetics and breeding, nutrition, health and disease prevention, animal welfare, sustainability, production technology, processing innovation, and global food security. It’s a comprehensive program that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of poultry science today.

Q

What makes this Congress important right now?

A:  Poultry is one of the fastest-growing and most essential sectors in global food production. As the industry faces pressing issues like disease management, climate challenges, and sustainable production, WPC 2026 will serve as a critical forum for developing science-based solutions. The Congress will help connect the dots between research, practice, and policy, influencing the direction of poultry science for years to come.

Q

Where can members of the media find more information or request interviews?

A:   Reporters and media outlets can email communications@wpc2026toronto.com for updates, event information, and contact details. For press inquiries or interview requests, the WPC 2026 Communications Team can assist with access to speakers, organizers, and program leaders.
